Now that it’s (really) getting warmer, it’s finally time to get outside again. When spring comes to Berlin, the wonderful capital shows its most beautiful side again. One of the best ways to explore Berlin is by bike. We show you five great bike tours in and around Berlin. From sightseeing to history to wonderful nature, there’s a bit of everything.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n

1.\u00a0Berlin Wall Trail – the classical route<\/h2>\r\n

Whether on foot or by bike – the Berlin Wall Trail is a real classic. Where the Wall once stood is now one of the capital’s most popular hiking and cycling trails. If you want to cycle the entire route, you should allow around 11 hours to complete the 159 km trail. If this is too far for you, you can also opt for individual stages. For those who like it lively, we recommend the section along the Eastside Gallery in the heart of the city. For nature lovers, the section in the south from Sonnenallee via Sch\u00f6nefeld to Lichtenrade or from Hennigsdorf via Hohen Neuendorf to Hermsdorf are particularly suitable.<\/p>\r\n

2.\u00a0From the zoo to Alexanderplatz – the sightseeing tour\r\n<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

What would a vacation in Berlin be without a little sightseeing tour? In good weather, you can do this perfectly by bike. You start at our hotel<\/strong><\/a>, cycle along the famous Ku’damm and make a detour to the green oasis that is Berlin’s Tiergarten. From there, you will reach the famous Victory Column and the iconic Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag. There you can decide whether you want to turn off to Potsdamer Platz or continue towards Alexanderplatz past the cathedral, the City Palace and Museum Island. No matter which option you choose, there is definitely a lot to see on this tour.<\/p>\r\n

A little tip:<\/strong> In bad weather, you can also cover the route on the bus number 100. The bus passes almost all of Berlin’s major sights without a tourist surcharge.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n

3. Cycling tours around the M\u00fcggelsee – off to the south of Berlin\r\n<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

Berlin is known for its forests and lakes. They invite vacationers and Berliners to relax, explore and enjoy. The M\u00fcggelsee in beautiful K\u00f6penick is one of Berlin’s largest lakes and a popular destination for excursions. The best way to get there is to take the S-Bahn to Friedrichshagen. From there, take the small promenade towards the lake. The Spree tunnel takes you to the other side, where you can cycle along the shore around the lake. In R\u00fcbezahl, you can take a short detour to the M\u00fcggelturm tower or continue directly towards Kleiner M\u00fcggelsee. If you wish, you can take a break here and go on a short boat trip or simply relax on the beach. The route continues through dreamy Klein Venedig and then via Wilhelmshagen and Rahnsdorf back to Friedrichshagen S-Bahn station. The almost 20 km long route is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cycle tours through Berlin.<\/p>\r\n

Bike rental<\/strong> – Don’t have your own bike with you? No problem, you can hire a bike from us for a fee of \u20ac18 per day<\/strong><\/a>.\r\nTaking a bike on the S-Bahn<\/strong> – It is generally possible to take a bike on the S-Bahn. However, you will need an additional ticket for your bike. It is not possible to take your bike on the bus.\r\nSafety<\/strong> – Always lock your bike and wear a helmet.
