From 20 June 2025, Air Transat will offer two weekly flights (Mondays and Fridays) from BER Airport in Berlin to Toronto Pearson Airport in Canada. Air Transat, the Canadian airline, will offer non-stop flights from Berlin to Toronto for the first time from 20 June to 24 October 2025. Here you will find some information on this topic for your future journeys between Germany and Canada.

Why a new airline Berlin Toronto?

According to VisitBerlin, Berlin wants to attract more Canadian visitors. Burkhard Kieker, Managing Director of visitBerlin, said in April 2025: ‘Due to the current political situation, Canadian travellers are on the lookout for new destinations. From mid-June, there will be a new long-haul connection between Toronto and Berlin. This is a good time to put Berlin on the map as an exciting destination. I expect the number of guests from Canada in Berlin to increase significantly.’

Berlin’s heraldic animal and Canada’s national animal stand for an invitation to travellers from the North American country. This is visitBerlin’s response to the changing travel behaviour of many Canadians.

About Air Transat

Air Transat A.T. Inc., a Montreal-based airline, is based at Montréal-Trudeau Airport. Transat was founded 37 years ago. It is a major provider of leisure travel, known in particular as Air Transat as an airline.

The company was recognised by its customers as the world’s best leisure airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2024 and offers access to international destinations. The route will be flown by Air Transat with the modern Airbus A321LR, which offers space for 199 passengers: 12 seats in Club Class (Premium Economy) and 187 seats in Economy Class. The flight time from BER to Toronto is 8 hours and 50 minutes, while the return flight time is one hour shorter.
