Are you staying at our boutique hotel for several nights and want to do something good for the planet? Louisa’s Place, in collaboration with Hotel For Trees, now offers you the opportunity to plant a tree and offset some of the CO2 emissions generated during your stay.
What is „Hotels for Trees“?
Since 2021, the Hotels for Trees Foundation has been supporting various (re)forestation projects around the world. These projects are selected in collaboration with reforestation partner Trees for All. Hotels for Trees has set itself the goal of making the hotel industry in Europe more sustainable by converting cost savings from room cleaning into newly planted trees.
The project aims to expand its activities across Europe in the coming years, with the goal of planting at least 1 million trees per year from 2025 onwards.
The foundation is a non-profit organisation managed by a three-member board and supervised by a supervisory board. All donations are used for (re)forestation projects or for the operation or expansion of Hotels for Trees.
How does it all work?
To do so, you must stay at least two nights in our boutique hotel. In your room, you will find a ‘Hotel For Trees’ door hanger that you can simply hang on your room door. This informs our housekeeping team that you do not wish to have your room cleaned on one or more days. Alternatively, you are welcome to inform our team at reception at any time.
Louisa’s Place is committed to donating €5.25 per tree for every guest who participates in this campaign. There are currently more than 40 reforestation projects in Europe and worldwide.
Louisa’s Place is committed to greater sustainability
Did you know that over 1% of all CO2 emissions in our world are caused by the hotel industry and related travel, services and deliveries? One reason for CO2 emissions is, for example, the daily cleaning of hotel rooms. At Louisa’s Place, we want to make the hotel industry more sustainable by investing the money we save on room cleaning in newly planted trees. It’s clear and simple for all our guests.
Was ist „Hotels for Trees“?
Dazu müssen Sie mindestens zwei Nächte in unserem Boutique-Hotel übernachten.
This year, International Women’s Day falls on a Sunday – it has even been an official public holiday in Berlin for several years now. There are numerous events to encourage all the women among you in particular to spend a weekend in the capital! And as good news rarely comes alone, we have put together an attractive offer for you at the end of the article for Women’s Day at Louisa’s Place – it’s worth a look, ladies!
The meaning of Women’s Day
International Women’s Day, which is celebrated on 8 March, is a powerful symbol of the decades-long struggle for women’s rights and equality. Originally created to draw attention to the challenges and discrimination faced by women in many societies, this day has an inspiring history dating back to the early 20th century.
In Berlin, where Women’s Day is celebrated with particular vigour, events and demonstrations commemorate the achievements of the feminist movement as well as the inequalities that still exist. The day serves not only to honour the courage and commitment of women, but also to motivate new generations to stand up for equality and justice. It is an opportunity for all people – regardless of gender or background – to come together and show solidarity in the quest for a better future for all women worldwide.
Why is Women’s Day a public holiday in Berlin?
In the former GDR and its capital Berlin, 8 March was officially celebrated as ‘Women’s Day’ to honour women’s equality. Traditionally, red carnations were given to women and the state and party leadership awarded the annual Clara Zetkin Medal to honour women’s initiatives in the world of work and society.
As Berlin had the lowest number of public holidays in the year compared to the other federal states, on 24 January 2019, the Berlin House of Representatives passed a majority motion for an additional public holiday on 8 March. Berlin was thus the first federal state to establish International Women’s Day as a public holiday and the city is now celebrating this day more than ever before!
