Make the most of the days off for Easter and visit Berlin with the family, as the capital has plenty to offer children of all ages. As Easter doesn’t take place until mid-April, spring is already on its way and the city is waking up from its winter slumber! The perfect moment for our special offer for Easter 2025 in Berlin tailored to families, which you can find further down on this page – watch out, little and big bunnies!
What is planned for Easter in Berlin?
There are numerous events taking place in the capital over the Easter weekend, so there should be something for everyone. We have selected 5 tips in the vicinity of Louisa’s Place:
Carillon Easter concerts in the Tiergarten
Free of charge and outdoors: On 20 and 21 April, carillonneur Jeffrey Bossin will play festive Easter chorales and spring songs. The starting signal will be given at 4 pm. There is a 42 metre high carillon in the Tiergarten, which consists of 68 bells and can be heard throughout the park. Regular concerts are held every Sunday during the summer.
Spring festival on Kurt-Schumacher-Damm
More than 50 showmen are setting up their attractions for the 53rd Berlin Spring Festival on Kurt-Schumacher-Damm to offer a successful funfair experience. Almost 80 rides will be set up on the central fairground for the spring festival. The variety of rides includes Aviator, Break Dance, Melodie-Star and Auto-Scooter. Of course, the ghost train and mirror maze are not to be missed.
Swimming in the Wannsee lido
At Easter time, the temperature of Lake Wannsee is around 7 degrees – admittedly quite chilly and more for the brave and older children! But those who dare will be rewarded: swimmers can warm up extensively in two mobile saunas after their excursion into the cool water.
Easter Knights’ Festival in the Spandau Citadel
The traditional Easter Knight Spectaculum in Spandau offers a variety of attractions for fans of knights and the Middle Ages: Historical music by ‘Corvus Corax’, theatre and acrobatics with the ‘Flugträumern’ as well as a fire and fakir show. And, of course, knight fights on the ground and jousting tournaments on horseback are an absolute must at a festival dedicated to the Middle Ages.
Easter bonfire in Berlin Gatow
Every year, the Berlin Gatow Volunteer Fire Brigade organises an impressive Easter bonfire. Initially there were 80 spectators, but now there are many more! Barbecue food and home-baked cakes are provided. Younger guests can look forward to the popular Easter egg hunt at 4 pm.
