We at Louisa’s Place also believe that pets are part of the family and should accompany them on holiday. That’s why we look forward to welcoming your dog to our boutique hotel in Charlottenburg.
Your holiday with your dog in Berlin
Did you know that Berlin is a dog-friendly city? According to the german media RBB, more than 130,000 dogs are registered in Berlin in 2023. There are many green spaces and open areas for dogs. These include the huge Tempelhofer Feld, the Grunewald forest in our Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district and the Wannsee-Düppel dog-walking area in the nearby Steglitz-Zehlendorf district. There is no shortage of outdoor activities for your dog to burn off energy and enjoy beautiful walks with you in the German capital.
So that everyone can enjoy the run, please remember that the permitted length of the lead is one metre in pedestrian zones and two metres in parks. Only dogs that were kept before 22 July 2016 or whose owners have a dog licence are currently exempt from the general leash requirement. With this knowledge, you can relax and enjoy the streets and parks of Berlin with your four-legged friend.

Your pet is also entitled to personalised service during its stay with us. We are happy to provide a food and water bowl incl. mat and dog waste bag in the room. Your faithful companion will also receive a surprise treat on arrival.
Your furry friend is also welcome in the hotel (with the exception of Louisa’s SPA). And if you would like to bring him to breakfast with you, we will be happy to reserve a place for him in our library, where he can lie under the table while you start the new day with a cosy cup of coffee.
The pet fee is only €25/night for the extra cleaning effort our team puts in. Who doesn’t know the joy of removing dog hair from the carpet or clothes?
Walk your dog near the hotel
Ten minutes’ walk from Louisa’s Place is the “Hochmeisterplatz” park. It is an island-like square with nine street junctions. It is perfect for stretching your legs and taking a short morning or evening walk with your dog. We have created a map of parks and other facilities near our hotel, which are just a few minutes’ walk away. You can see it here online.
There is a designated dog walking area in Berlin’s Grunewald forest, just a 10-minute drive from the hotel. The wide paths invite people and animals for a walk in the fresh air and along the water and are a pleasant contrast to the busy city – especially for sensitive ears.
In public green spaces, parks and woodland areas, the maximum length of the lead is two metres. However, we recommend that you keep your pet on a lead, as the fines for dogs running loose can be expensive. The fine for ‘dog not on a lead’ is currently 45 euros on first offence.
Shopping for your dog
On the Kudamm you will find the best places to shop and that is no exception for your dog. Pet grooming, pet supplies shops or even dog therapy: a quick search on Google Maps will list a range of shops and service providers near our boutique hotel that fulfil all your four-legged friend’s needs.

Auch wir im Louisa’s Place sind der Meinung, dass Haustiere mit zur Familie gehören und sie diese im Urlaub begleiten sollten. Wussten Sie, dass Berlin eine hundefreundliche Stadt ist? Laut RBB sind 2023 mehr als 130.000 Hunde in Berlin registriert. Hier gibt es viele Grünflächen und Freilaufflächen für Hunde. Von der allgemeinen Leinenpflicht ausgenommen sind derzeit nur noch Hunde, die bereits vor dem 22. Juli 2016 gehalten wurden oder deren Halter über einen Hundeführerschein verfügen. Mit diesem Wissen können Sie entspannt die Berliner Straßen und Parks zusammen mit Ihrem Partner auf vier Pfoten genießen.

Gassi gehen in der Nähe des Hotels
Zehn Gehminuten vom Louisa’s Place entfernt befindet sich der Park „Hochmeisterplatz“. Es handelt sich um einen inselartigen Platz mit neun Straßeneinmündungen. Dieser ist perfekt, um sich die Beine zu vertreten und einen kleinen Morgen- oder Abendspaziergang mit dem Hund zu machen. Wir haben eine Karte mit Parks und anderen Einrichtungen in der Nähe unseres Hotels erstellt, die nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß entfernt sind. Sie können sie hier online sehen.
Ein ausgewiesenes Hundeauflaufgebiet befindet sind im Berliner Grunewald, nur knappe 10 Min. Fahrt vom Hotel entfernt. Die breiten Wege laden Mensch und Tier für einen Spaziergang an der frischen Luft und am Wasser entlang ein und sind ein wohltuender Kontrast zur belebten Stadt – ganz besonders für empfindliche Ohren.
In öffentlichen Grünanlagen, Parks und Waldflächen darf die Leine maximal zwei Meter lang sein. Wir empfehlen Ihnen hingegen, Ihr Tier an der Leine zu führen, da die Bußgelder für freilaufende Hunde teuer sein können. Das Verwarnungsgeld für “Hund nicht angeleint” beträgt aktuell bei erster Feststellung in der Regel 45,- Euro.

American football fans, here it is! The National Football League (NFL) is coming to Berlin’s Olympic Stadium on 9 November 2025. Many football enthusiasts from Germany and abroad are expected to attend, bringing the stadium to fever pitch for this special season game on German soil. We can’t wait to welcome all NFL fans to our hotel – we’re only a few minutes’ drive from the Olympiastadion!
What is the NFL and why is there a game in Berlin?
The NFL (National Football League) is the highest professional American football league in the United States. It consists of 32 teams and is considered one of the largest and most popular sports leagues in the world. It is particularly well known for the Super Bowl, the annual final game, which is one of the biggest sporting events in the world.
And the NFL in Berlin? The league has been present in Germany since 2022, when the NFL began hosting regular season games in Germany (‘NFL International Games’) to cater to its rapidly growing fan base in Europe. The very first NFL game in Germany took place in Munich in 2022 (Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Seattle Seahawks). After Frankfurt last year, Berlin is finally the venue for this year’s game! Here, too, there are large fan groups, public viewings, fan events and even teams (Berlin Thunder) in the European League of Football (ELF), which is, so to speak, the European version of a football league. The Indianapolis Colts and the Atlanta Falcons will travel to Berlin for a meeting to score the first touchdown in the capital.

The game not only marks the German capital’s debut as host of a regular NFL game, but is also part of a longer-term collaboration with Berlin. One of the goals is to promote flag football – which is also relevant in view of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

The NFL is planning a total of seven international regular season games in five countries for 2025. The game in São Paulo, Brazil, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers on 5 September 2025 already provided a spectacular start to the season!
Dublin, Ireland: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Minnesota Vikings on 28 September at the Croke Park Studium.
Madrid, Spain: Miami Dolphins vs. Washington Commanders on 16 November 2025 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium – the first NFL game in Spain.
London, UK: Three games already confirmed – for example, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Los Angeles Rams on 19 October 2025.
